Busy Day Part 2

Okay, so to finish my previous post...

So after I punched John, it took awhile to get the scene done, becuase the 'mood' was gone. And completing the scene constisted mostly of me running from several directions, acting like I'd been shot, and John catching me... Poor John... I'm not very good at falling either....

After my stuff had been shot, they had to re-do some of the stuff from Wednesday because some of the dialogue had gotten cut off. So by the time we were done, it was around 8 pm, and we had to trudge back, through the Dead Marshes, to Isaac's house... My costume was a complete mess by this time... It was wet, covered in mud, grass stains, and cow crap. Somehow, I had even scraped up my knee, so there was blood on it too.

Back at Isaac's, we all rinsed off our feet with the hose, and changed. Isaac and John discussed how Isaac was going to kill the villain, while I played on the tire-swing, and Laura chilled out in the tree house. We eventually made it inside, where we sat in the dark of Isaac's basement, and just hung out, and talked about random things. Then Isaac's brother got off the gamecube, and we watched the footage from the day... Which was okay... I guess... Considering that I suck at dieing...

When we finished watching the dailies, it was around 10:15 pm, and I had told my mom that I would be home around 10. Ooops. So I called, because I also wanted to stay and watch the movie Isaac was starting, but mom said that I had to come home... Which ticked me off... She is no fun.... So I had to leave. :-( I gave Drew a ride home, then made my own way back home.

Halfway home, I noticed this nasty smell in the car, and I couldn't figure out what it was... It smelled really bad... Then about 5 minutes later, I realized that it was my dress that was stinky... Yuck. So when I got home I put it to soak in the bathtub, and I scrubbed out all the stains with a bar of hand soap. It worked very well, I was impressed. I knew that if I had just thrown it in the washer, I would have had to wash it several times to get all that gunk out, so I took the time to scrub it, and wash it once. Yay me!!!

I also disreguarded my "note to self" from Wednesday's post and went barefoot through the tall grass again... This time, I noticed, as I cleaned up, I wasn't so lucky. I have a nasty cut on my... ring toe???? It's the one next to my pinky toe, on my left foot. It was not fun trying to clean it... Yeah, so that wasn't so smart.

So it looks like my scenes as Rebecca are all done... I don't know if I should be sad or happyy... I've have alot of fun hanging out with Isaac, John and Drew.... I think I'm going back to Isaac's today though... To be an 'extra'.

But first, I have to get my chores done... Fun stuff.... Not!

Busy Day!

Lot's of stuff happened today! I accidentially slept through my alarm today, so I had to go to the 10 am church, which sorta upset my brother, because he wanted to go to the pancake breakfast that was after the 8 am service. Then I worked on my Girl Scout service project a little bit. After that I went to my municiple band concert, stopped in at the party that the movie rental place, where I also work, was holding at 'The Other Place', then I went to Isaac's to work on the movie.

Ah, the movie.... After everyone got to Isaac's, there was mass confusion about how we were going to do my death scene, in terms of costume, seeing that I have to have an arrow 'through' my chest. After many bouts of mass miscommunication, we got it figured out. We covered it by me wearing a nifty sash.

We had to go out to the field behind Isaac's house again... Past the cattle fence. And no, I did not get zapped, but since it rained yesterday.... Oh, my gosh, it was a soggy mess... Trying to get there was a new challenge altogether.... And once we got to where we were filming, we had to watch out for the cow pies... There were a lot of cow pies.

Sooo, the scene we were filming just so happens to be my character's death scene. It's supposed to be the 'tear-jerker' in the movie. My character takes an arrow in the place of Jack, and dies in his arms. Romantic? It was supposed to be... Now add in the fact that we just spent close to 20 minutes getting to our location, across what has now become something akin to the Dead Marshes from The Two Towers. Mud, water, cow pies and mosquitoes, you name it, minus Gollum. Oh, and did I mention that it was also around 90 degrees, and about 80% humidity? Yes, we were sweating... (I think it was far more hot today then Wednesday...) Yes, it sucked. And yes, my hair was frizzing out like none other.

And so, we filmed a shot of the villian who kills me, and a shot of me looking this way and that... Then a shot of Laura and I, then the both of us running... etc. FYI, running through a soggy, marsh-like field, littered with cow pies is not fun. Especially in a long dress, and in bare feet. So we finally, FINALLY get to the part when I actually 'die'. And you know what? I suck at dieing... LOL... It is hard... Especially when you have lines... So I am trying to get this scene figured out with John... Basically it's: I get shot, John catches me, I land in his lap, speak lines, die. So we were trying to block the shot, and I'm in John's lap, (amid the cow pies) with this arrow on a wire under my arm... And I'll admit, it's an awkward situation to be in... Plus, with the tempurature and humidity the way is was, behing in an 'intimate situation' was the last thing either of us wanted to do... In addition to that, we were having some problems getting the arrow to lay correctly... And John, being John... I don't know... Made a comment about my chest, which I didn't appreciate. I mean, I've heard far worse then what he said, but that still doesn't mean that I liked it. He basically said "I just don't want to mess with the 'merchandice'." *shakes head* So I punched him in the jaw... It wasn't terribly hard, but it let him know that I didn't like what he said... And Isaac and Laura totally agreed with me that John deserved it, for what he said.

AND it is quite late, so I will finish what I want to say in this post after I wake up.

Bad timing...

Grrrr... And when did it start to rain????

AFTER THE BAND CONCERT!!!!!!!

*fumes*

Bumper Sticker of the day: "My other car is a Diet Pepsi Truck"

Ha! I saw that on my way to work today! It made me smile.

Exciting day at the gift shop, where I work... A baby duck, no bigger then my fist, fell down through the grate bars, into the sewer. So Arlen, who is the husband of my boss, and Scott who owns a clothing store across the plaza, had to fish it out. At the gift shop there's this old fashioned fishing net, so Arlen got that, and taped it to a broom handle, and together, he and Scott rescued the baby duck. The mother duck was very happy to have her baby back.

Aaaannnd my mom just found out how much the violin clock I ordered from the shop cost... Not good... :-(

I wish it would rain. I've been wishing very hard all day... Because if the municiple band concert was cancelled, then I could go see "Suessical: The Musical." Grrr... RAIN! RAIN I SAY!!!!

Right now, I am eating Thin Mints (yes, I still have Girl Scout cookies left), and listening to the awesome music from Pirates of the Caribbean... I love that soundtrack!!!!!

I had chicken broccoli for lunch... It wasn't as good as it usually is... There was cauliflower in it... I don't like cauliflower, so I picked it out. Then I sat there all during my lunch hour, and wondered why it was included in my chicken broccoli... LOL... I need a life...

I got a graduation thank-you today from my friend Kelvin, who was nice enough to take me to prom this year. It really made my day! He is so nice! :-) FYI, Kelvin continues to impress me with how much he remembers the things I tell him... Things that I only mention once, or things that I don't expect him (or anyone else) to remember... Like when I work at the shop, or things having to do with the summer movie. (AND he's very good about e-mailing back-and-forth.) Yay Kelvin!

Well, there is still no sign of rain, so I guess I'd better get ready for the concert...

*Happily listens to the thunderstorm outside*

What did I tell you? It's storming. I watched the lightning as I drove home from municiple band. It was awesome! I really do enjoy thunderstorms... I think they are relaxing.

I'm listening to my Camelot: The Original Broadway Cast CD, with Julie Andrews as Guenevere. I love that CD! Especially the part of Lancelot... I'm kind of a romantic that way... :-)

Municiple band was okay. At least I wasn't prinicple, becuase I never do very well sight-reading. I am on piccolo though, so who knows how that's going to go... playing picc makes you one of the most exposed instruments in the band so I have to be careful... lol... At least the director cut the one song that had all the evil piccolo solos... And no, he didn't cut it because I sucked at playing them. It was a poor arrangement of music.

I work tomorrow all day.... From 9:30 am to 5:30 pm... Then I have a municiple band concert at 7:30 pm. Phooey... It will be a long day...

Great and Glorious Sam, when will you get back from Nebraska? I miss you!!!! I want to tell you about my week!

*sigh* I would love a hug right now...

Cattle Fences 101...

Yesterday, I went over to my friend Isaac's house to work on this summer movie that he and his friend John are making. I'm really excited to be a part of it. So far it has been really fun! It's a 'medieval war-type' movie, and Isaac and John play the two leads: Matt and Jack. John wrote the script, and it ROCKS! My character's name is Rebecca, she's a seamstress, and is Jack's love interest. Laura, who I met working on this movie, plays Athena, who is the daughter of the king, and is Matt's love interest.

So anyway, Isaac lives in the country and has a nice big backyard with lots of space to use for the movie. (Not to mention the coolest tire-swing EVER!!!!!) I went over around 1 pm and filmed some scenes with just John and I, which actually went pretty smooth... We got a scene done in one take! YAY! Isaac came home from work around 3 pm, and he and John worked on some props. I got to tag along with John to Ace Hardwear for some PVC pipe to make a new bowstaff, because Isaac had accidentially stepped on it and broke the first one, while filming on Tuesday. After they finished the props, Laura got there and we filmed a scene that included John Isaac, and I. Then they decided to go out to the woods behind Isaac's house to film the fight scene between John, Laura, and Isaac.

So.... Isaac, John, Laura, Drew, who is the cameraman, and I are all plowing through this field of tall grass, as we try and make our way to the woods... (I should also mention that I was wearing my cosume, which is a dress with an ample skirt...) And to get to the woods you have to cross over this fence... Which so happends to be an electric fence, for cows... And guess who tried to climb over while not paying attention to where she was placing her hands. Yep... Me... Oh, man... it hurt! *laughs* Laura told me to follow her as she jumped onto this cement block, and climbed over... So I made my way towards her... and as I lean over, to climb up, I fail to notice the little wire....

ZAP!

Yes, I got shocked by the cattle fence... So everyone hears this 'crack' noise, and I shriek, pull my hand back, and somehow accidentially touch it again, and kind of jolt backwards. Everyone was like: "Oh my gosh, Sarah! Are you okay?" and Drew says from behind me: "I got it!"

SO, not only do my friends get to see me get zinged by the fence, it is now on tape... And it's going on the blooper reel when we finish the movie, for everyone else to see! Oh... It hurt alot.... But the laughs we had afterwards were totally worth it! And at the end of the day, when we went over the footage, we were quite boistrous as we watched me get zapped... again... and again... :-D

And my right arm is a little tender today... Gee, I wonder why? :-)

Note to self: Next time, it might be a good idea to put shoes on before you go tramping about the woods... Sticks and stinging nettles can really mess up your feet.

Hey! I have a blog! And I finally got it to work! Yay! "Exuberante Flauto" is Italian for "Happy Flute."
