I think the idea of trayless dining in a cafeteria setting is impractical. Your plates are not big enough for multiple entrees and a person needs at least two drinking glasses to satiate his/her thirst. I do not care if it is Earth week. Find something else to do. One week without trays at Wartburg College is not going to make a huge impact on the amount of food that is waisted in the US in a year.
I understand that food waste is an issue, but I do my best to take only what I will eat and I do not appreciate being forced to carry silverware, a plate of salad, a dessert, a plate of the main dish, a bowl of fruit and two glasses of water all at once. Nor do I have time to walk back and forth to get all the food I want. I cannot juggle and I do not want to learn how. This is a huge inconvenience. I am not paying $9 a meal for this kind of service. Why should I be punished because other people pile on tons of food, take two bites and then send their tray back to dishline.
Do you know what I have to say to you Wartburg Mensa?

Yes. That is me and Rachel D. We both have stolen 2 trays in protest of trayless dining. And we will use them the entire week. You will not stop us.
Just consider it a pay-back for all the times you served MEAT on FRIDAY DURING LENT! And all the times you served FISH on THURSDAY DURING LENT! Not only that, but you ignored ALL the comments I (and others) put in the suggestion box regarding this issue.
I hate you Mensa. I really really do.
And I am still really upset that you took away the soft-serve ice cream. I will never forgive you.
Absolutely no love. Just in case you forgot: I hate you.

So? Big deal. Whaaaa.
Get with the program who-ever-you-are.
It's a big deal because it's a large inconvenience to an incredibly busy person. And they did it without consulting the student body.
You're probably a comm arts major who has time to go back and forth to get food, silverware, drinks and more food.
Ah! Such a wonderful idea!
If I were still using a dining plan, I would totally steal a tray from another dining hall, and just smuggle it in in my backpack or something.
They took away the soft-serve here too and replaced it with watery fat-free frozen yogurt with no taste.
i dont care how much I might or might not agree with the points you presented here sarah, but you do seem really rude. i cant understand youre probably not too happy about these enviornmental changes, but wow u need some medication with your two glasses?
go ahead and insult me back. i probably wont ever see this post again
Wow... How did this post suddenly get so many comments?
Anyway, "someone" whether you see this post again or not, I'm not going to be rude back, but I can see how if this post was your first impression of me, yeah I would come off as pretty rude. I'm just rather opinionated and not afraid to state it sometimes. *shrug* It's just my personality. It comes from learning to stand up for yourself and what you believe in.
... Not that anti-green related practices are something to believe in, this was more of a protest to my college doing something without consulting the student body.
